The Moore & Franks approach in Exmouth
Exmouth is caravan country — the seafront parks and the big static sites above the beach put hundreds of vans right in the salt-laden wind. That sea air is the problem: it carries salt that bakes onto panels and feeds green growth on the shaded north sides through the wet months. Leave it and the streaking sets in for the season. Moore & Franks cover the Exmouth parks regularly, soft-washing caravan and park home exteriors so the cladding comes back bright without damaging seals or sealant lines. We bring our own water and access kit, work tidily around neighbouring vans, and we're a proper family firm — 25 years, £5m cover.
A caravan by the Exmouth seafront never stays clean as long as one inland, and it pays to be realistic about that. The salt film settles back within weeks, so we often talk owners through a sensible rhythm: a proper clean at the start of the season and a lighter one before the summer lets begin. An optional biocide top-coat, brushed on after washing, buys a bit more time before the green creeps back onto the shaded side.
The powder-coated trim, printed side decals and rubber window gaskets on a modern static all react differently to sea air. Salt draws moisture into every join and works under sealant if it is left, which is why we lift it gently rather than scrub. On the older vans out toward Littleham the sealant is often past its best, so a soft, low-pressure wash matters even more. The last thing they need is water forced past a tired seam.
A lot of the units on the Sandy Bay side earn their keep as summer lets, and a tired, streaked exterior costs bookings. We can work through a run of vans between changeovers, doing each one properly without holding up the turnaround. Owners letting through the Exmouth season tend to book us in early spring, so the whole row looks smart before the first guests arrive and the reviews take note.
Our Exmouth customers are typically within 25 minutes of our Exeter base. We cover the wider EX8 postcode area and the surrounding villages (The Beacon, Littleham, Withycombe Raleigh, Brixington, Exmouth Seafront & Marina, Lympstone).

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions we get asked the most. If yours isn't here, drop us a line — we reply same day.
There is no flat rate. We quote each caravan free after seeing it, because a seafront static caked in salt film takes more work than a sheltered tourer. Exposure is the big cost factor here: the more weathered the panels and the harder the pitch is to reach, the longer it takes. You will get a clear price with no obligation.
Yes, across the whole of Exmouth and out to Lympstone: the seafront parks, the big sites out toward Sandy Bay and Littleham, and any van kept at home through Brixington and Withycombe Raleigh. If it sits in the EX8 postcode, we will reach it.
It is the salt left sitting that does harm, not a careful wash. We rinse it away at low pressure so it cannot keep drawing damp into the seams and seals. On Exmouth's exposed seafront units that regular removal is what stops salt working its way under the sealant and lifting it.
Yes. If you run a row of lets we will plan the visit around your changeovers and work through them in sequence. We are a two-man family firm, so you deal with the same pair each time, Monday to Friday, and we will reply the same day you ask.
