Gutter Repair & Drain Clearing across Devon
Clearing a gutter is one thing — but a fair few gutters are leaking, sagging or broken rather than just blocked, and the gully drain underneath is often choked too. We repair guttering as well as clear it: leaking joints, cracked sections, slipped brackets, broken hoppers and downpipes, plus unblocking the gully drains and gullies that take the water away.

The Moore & Franks approach
Most gutter leaks are at the joints or where a bracket has dropped and pulled the run out of fall. We re-seal or replace the joint, re-fix or add brackets to get the fall right again, and swap out any cracked sections or broken hoppers. On cast-iron, uPVC and aluminium systems alike — we match the existing profile so the repair isn't an obvious patch.
The other half of the job is below ground. A perfectly clear gutter still overflows if the gully it discharges into is packed with silt, leaves and debris. We clear and rod the gully drains and gullies so the water actually gets away, and check the downpipe shoe is feeding into it properly rather than washing against the wall. Where a repair turns out to need more than a quick fix, we'll tell you straight what's involved before doing anything.
A clear, repeatable process.
No surprises, no upsells. The same method every job — that's how you get the same result every time.
- 01
Find the fault
We check the full run in the wet if we can — leaks, sags, cracked sections and the gully below — so we fix the actual cause, not just the symptom.
- 02
Repair the gutter
Joints re-sealed or replaced, brackets re-fixed for correct fall, broken sections and hoppers swapped to match the existing system.
- 03
Clear the drain
The gully drain and gully under the downpipe cleared and rodded so the water runs away properly.
- 04
Test & check
We flush the run through to confirm there are no remaining leaks and the drain takes the flow.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions we get asked the most. If yours isn't here, drop us a line — we reply same day.
Yes. We re-seal leaking joints, re-fix slipped brackets, and replace cracked sections, broken hoppers and downpipes — on uPVC, cast-iron and aluminium. A lot of 'blocked' gutters are actually leaking or sagging, and clearing alone won't fix that.
Usually the gully drain underneath is blocked, or the downpipe has slipped and isn't feeding into it. A clear gutter still overflows if the water can't get away below ground. We clear and rod the gully and check the downpipe shoe as part of the job.
