Render Cleaning across Devon
Render — whether traditional sand-cement, monocouche, K-Rend or modern silicone — picks up algae, mould and atmospheric grime fast in the Devon climate. We use a biocidal soft-wash system that breaks the biological growth at root level and lifts general grime without aggressive pressure that would damage the surface.

The Moore & Franks approach
Pressure-washing modern silicone or K-Rend renders is a fast route to a ruined wall. Once the surface is scarred, water ingress follows and a £400 wash becomes a £4,000 re-coat. Our approach is biocide-led: kill the growth chemically, then rinse at low pressure.
On heavily soiled or older render where the colour itself has gone, we'll specify either a clean-and-treat or a clean-and-recoat — the right call depends on the substrate. The free site visit and quote covers exactly that conversation.
Most jobs are completed in a single day. Bigger or three-storey properties may need two.
A clear, repeatable process.
No surprises, no upsells. The same method every job — that's how you get the same result every time.

Pre-rinse
Loose debris and surface contamination rinsed at low pressure.

Biocide application
Soft-wash biocide applied to the full elevation and given dwell time.

Final rinse
Low-pressure rinse leaves a clean, biocide-treated surface that resists re-growth.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions we get asked the most. If yours isn't here, drop us a line — we reply same day.
Not the way we do it. Our soft-wash system uses biocide and low pressure — exactly the method specified by render manufacturers for cleaning. High-pressure cleaning is what damages these surfaces.
Properly applied biocide slows re-growth significantly. North-facing or tree-shaded elevations re-grow first; expect 3–5 years on average before another visit.
Often a clean is enough — the colour returns once the biological layer is gone. Where the render itself has gone (cracking, hollow patches, lost colour pigment) we'll be straight with you and recommend re-coating instead.
