The Moore & Franks approach in Exeter

Exeter's commercial estate is busy and varied — the retail parks at Marsh Barton and Sowton, office forecourts around Southernhay, pub and restaurant frontages on the Quay, and the hard-standing car parks serving the high street. All of it takes a pounding: traffic film, chewing gum, oil drips, moss creeping in from the leafy roads around Pennsylvania, and the damp Exe-valley air that keeps block paving green for months. We're based just down the road on Ferryman Way in Topsham, so Exeter's home turf, and we turn up with the kit to clean anything from a 50m² entrance to several thousand square metres of car park. Twenty-five years at it, insured to £5m, free quote — and we work around your trading hours.

The finish on a wide-open car park is where a rushed job shows itself. Running a rotary surface cleaner in even, overlapping passes holds one consistent tone across the whole lot, so you avoid the tiger-stripe banding a lone lance leaves behind. The enclosed head keeps overspray off parked cars and shopfront glass too, which matters when a unit stays trading around us. For the tight detail — drain surrounds, kerb lines, painted bays — we finish off with a lance.

Because we are ten minutes up the road at Topsham, an early start on an Exeter forecourt is no trouble at all. We can be washing a Pinhoe or Heavitree trade unit before the first delivery van arrives and be clear before you open the doors. We carry our own water by bowser, so there is no hunting for a working tap on an unfamiliar site, and we manage the run-off and leave the gullies clear rather than flooding them with the silt we have just shifted.

One clean rarely holds forever on a shaded EX2 or EX5 lot. The same valley damp that greened the surface in the first place brings it straight back, so most managed sites settle into a yearly or twice-yearly wash to stay presentable and, more to the point, safe underfoot. We are glad to quote a one-off or pencil in a repeat visit, whichever suits, and every price is fixed in writing after we have measured up, never guessed over the phone.

Our Exeter customers are right on our doorstep. We cover the wider EX1, EX2, EX3, EX4, EX5 postcode area and the surrounding villages (St Leonard's, Heavitree, Pinhoe, Topsham, Pennsylvania, Exeter Quay).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions we get asked the most. If yours isn't here, drop us a line — we reply same day.

There is no flat rate. It is a free quote priced by the square metre once we have measured the area and checked the surface and access. A large, open retail-park lot works out cheaper per square metre than a tight city-centre forecourt where the kit has to be walked in past parked cars. You get the figure fixed in writing first.

All of it — EX1 through EX5, from Heavitree and Pinhoe to St Leonard's and the Quay, and out to the newer estates at Cranbrook, Newcourt and Monkerton. Being just over in Topsham puts nearly every Exeter commercial site within a short drive of us.

Not when it is done right. A rotary surface cleaner spreads the force evenly instead of gouging one spot, so it lifts algae and traffic film without stripping the block faces. On older or loosely laid paving we ease the pressure and re-sand the joints afterwards if the wash pulls any kiln-dried sand out.

Yes. Most of our commercial work here is done early mornings, evenings or in phased sections, so one part stays open while we clean the other. We agree the timing on the quote and, being just down the road in Topsham, out-of-hours starts are straightforward. Same-day reply on any enquiry.
