The reason sealing earns its keep in the city is regrowth. Bind the kiln-dried sand into those joints and there is nothing loose left to colonise, so the green returns far slower on the shaded, north-facing runs where it usually shows first. After that an annual rinse keeps on top of it.
Timing the job around Exeter's weather is half the skill. Sealant has to go onto paving that is clean and fully dried through, and in a humid river city that can mean leaving a day or two between the wash and the seal so no moisture is trapped underneath, which is the usual reason a seal blisters or clouds later. We keep an eye on the forecast, book the two stages to suit it, and leave the drive to cure properly before you park on it again.

The paving is fully pressure-washed and any weeds removed — sealant only goes onto a properly clean surface.

We let the blocks and joints dry through — trapped moisture is the main reason a seal fails, so we don't rush this.

Kiln-dried sand brushed into the joints where needed so the sealant has something to bind.

Sealing is quoted per job with a free written quote, so there is no fixed rate. The main thing that moves the price in Exeter is the size of the surface, since a long block drive on the Pinhoe or Heavitree estates takes more sealant and more coats than a small courtyard patio. We price the clean and the seal together.
