We start off scraping the bulk of it away with carbon-fibre tools worked from the ground, then soft-wash a biocide over the slope so the spores are killed rather than just knocked loose. When we clean the roof we can treat the render at the same time, and we always finish by vacuuming the gutters clear from ground level so the moss we have shifted does not sit blocking the downpipes. The older clay-tiled terraces near the centre share valley gutters between houses, and those valleys are where moss packs in hardest. We clear them properly as part of the clean.
