Honiton's long high street is one of the best independent shopping runs in East Devon — antiques shops, galleries, cafés and the traditional lace-town frontages that give the place its character. That parade of signage is the town's shop window, and it dulls under traffic film from the busy street and greens on the shaded sides in the damp Otter valley air.
