The Moore & Franks approach in Tiverton

Tiverton is one of our home bases — we run a landline here — so this mid-Devon town is somewhere we know street by street. The old town has its stone terraces and the grand Heathcoat-era frontages, while estates spread out toward Blundell's and the Tidcombe side. Sitting where the Exe and Lowman meet, it pulls in plenty of valley damp that greens up glass and frames. We clear it with pure water, reaching upper windows safely and leaving a clean, dry finish with sills and frames done too. Twenty-five years, family-run, £5m insured, and properly local to boot.

Tiverton throws up two very different sorts of glazing. In the old streets around Westexe and Elmore you get slim Victorian sashes packed tight together, while out on the newer estates such as Blundell's Heights it is big uPVC units and roof lanterns on modern render. Pure water suits both: it rinses the many-paned sashes clear without a blade, and covers the large modern sheets without the smears a cloth leaves. Sills, seals and lantern glass all go in the same pass, whatever the age of the house.

The Grand Western Canal and the trees along the Lowman keep a lot of the town shaded and slow to dry, and that is where north-facing glass greens fastest. Sap and leaf litter settle on sills, reveals and conservatory roofs through the year, turning to a film that pure water lifts cleanly off the pole. There is no salt this far inland, but the standing damp more than makes up for it, so the glass here works just as hard.

Because the town sits on one of our regular rounds, we can usually add the odd extra clean without much notice. Most homes settle on quarterly, though anything under the canal-side trees often wants it more often. Conservatory roofs run from £50 + VAT to £90 + VAT by size, and where there are panels we do those at £7 + VAT each in the same visit, so the whole lot is sorted together.

Our Tiverton customers are typically within 25 minutes of our Exeter base. We cover the wider EX16 postcode area and the surrounding villages (Tiverton town centre & Westexe, Grand Western Canal, Blundell's School, Bolham & Knightshayes, Chettiscombe, Elmore).

How it works

A clear, repeatable process.

No surprises, no upsells. The same method every job — that's how you get the same result every time.

  1. 01

    Survey & quote

Quick site visit or photos by email. We confirm window count, access, frame condition and any conservatory glass before quoting a fixed per-visit price.

  2. 02

    Pure water prep

Mains water filtered on the van through carbon, reverse-osmosis and resin stages to zero total-dissolved-solids — the only state in which water dries spot-free.

  3. 03

    Fed-pole clean

Carbon-fibre pole and brush head agitate the glass, frames, sills and door panels. Pure water rinses clear and dries to a streak-free finish.

  4. 04

    Conservatory & extras

Conservatory roof glass, polycarbonate and finials cleaned as a same-visit add-on where specified.

  5. 05

    Scheduled return

Recurring customers go straight onto a quarterly or monthly schedule — we come back automatically without booking calls.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions we get asked the most. If yours isn't here, drop us a line — we reply same day.

A standard clean starts at £15 + VAT with frames and sills always covered. In Tiverton the price follows the glazing: a tight Westexe terrace of small sashes is near the base rate, while a large Blundell's Heights home with big units, a roof lantern and a conservatory takes longer and costs a bit more.

All of EX16 and the villages around, from Westexe and Elmore out to Bolham, Chettiscombe and the Blundell's side. The whole patch is familiar ground, and wherever you are there is no travel charge for reaching you.

It does. The water is filtered to nothing dissolved, so it rinses each small pane and glazing bar and dries clear with no marks. On the porous old render terraces around Westexe there is no blade or harsh scrub to worry the surrounds, and the frames are washed alongside the glass every time.

Call the Tiverton landline or drop us a message and we reply the same day with a written price. We are out weekdays, eight until five, and a Tiverton job joins an established round rather than waiting on a special trip. Quotes are free and nothing is payable until the work is finished.
